Fahrzeugakustik - Vehicle Acoustics (NVH)

Vehicle Acoustics (NVH)

Event form Lecture and exercise
Level Master
Semester Summer term
Creditpoints 5

Goals

The acoustic behaviour of vehicles is of great importance for the subjective perception of driving comfort. Due to the increasing complexity of motor vehicles and the associated intensive interaction between vehicle components, the ecological trend towards lightweight vehicle construction and the increasing electrification of the powertrain, the acoustic design of motor vehicles is becoming more and more challenging. In this lecture, fundamental vibration and noise behaviour (NVH) phenomena are discussed and transferred to complete vehicle applications. In addition to the objectification of these NVH phenomena using measurement and analysis technology, their subjective perception by humans is also discussed. Due to the increasing importance of virtual vehicle development, simulation methods are presented that allow a computational assessment of vibration and acoustic phenomena. In addition, the optimisation of overall vehicle vibro-acoustic properties is demonstrated using specific practical examples.
